And the FUBAR goes on

Yeah, try and get an interview for research purposes on a new fiction project.

Go ahead, I dare you.

Back in October, to prepare for a new project called "Prelude to Oblivion", which has some Lovecraftian goodness in the the creamy center, I contacted a local personage in the Body Mod community. Said personage is all about educating the masses on the Modern Primitive movement, and the main characters are immersed in the body mod community.

Yeah. Right. I still have not had a reply, but I'm getting spammed with announcements of events the said personage is putting on.

Just in case I've got the spare cash for that.

I've put out requests for others to assist in this research, but all I've gotten so far is people volunteering unsuspecting 3rd parties. Said third parties being intimately connected to the crew of said personage.

WTF?

Proposition 8: California Supreme Court Agrees To Rule On Gay Marriage Ban Defense

Well, I am sure a lot of straight people are celebrating that their marriages are still valid, since no decision on gay marriage has been reached, and will not be considered until much later this year.

The next straight person who bitches about me holding hands with my partner in public... will hear me say these words:

"Yass, sah, massa sah. Pahlease don't beat me any moah for being a bad faggot, sah!"

And before I hear from the progressive or self-described liberal heterosexuals on this site about how they support "domestic partnerships" or *actual* marriage equality, don't bother. it's not me you need to convince. It's your relatives, neighbors, employer, co-workers, employees, pastor, rabbi, "elder", etc.

Ten Most Overrated Artists in Art History (VIDEOS)

It would appear that you didn't make him see the light after all. Want to have another go?

Yeah, I would love to see your in-depth analysis of DaVinci's treatises on color and light, his studies in anatomy, his studies into mechanics, or even his early explorations of what would later become calculus.

There's a simple reason DaVinci is admired. He represents something that this world sees very little of in the present era: someone who engages his brain before shooting off his mouth. Someone who educates himself because he wants to understand the world, rather than make unfounded generalizations in an attempt to puff up his standing among those around him.

Out and About: LGBT Legal -- And Now, A Moment of Silence

"Many of us on both sides of the human sexuality debate, have been profoundly impacted by these events. Perhaps, through our grief, we can better listen to one another."

Good thought, but you forget the main theme of many anti-gay campaigns: *their* grief is real, ours is not. They continually denigrate our feelings, our cares, our needs, our thoughts, our contributions.

The gay community has, for the most part, abandoned silence for a very good reason. The opposition wants us silenced. Silent and invisible, they will allow us to exist. Once we break that rule, the amnesty will end.

Food Safety Overhaul Bill Under Threat In New GOP House, 'Food Police' Inspecting 'Girl Scout Cookies'

Translation:

Do these people have any brains or morals (other than for a dollar)? These people would try to limit the FDA from protecting the food supply, after last year? After all the food illness scares we went through, do we just let food go unchecked? The article says that this family has over 5.5 million dollars in medical bills! How can they afford these bills, with these 'tards fighting the health care bill also!

4 Political Concepts Ruined by Their Boring Names

We also need something to replace the term "journalism". It's far too close to "journalism".

The second refers to the accurate and balanced reporting of *facts*. The first refers to repackaging news and events into small, easily digestible items of entertainment, shock, and titillation, often free from anything that might be considered an actual fact worthy of being reported.

The act referred to by the second term involves reporting things so that any controversy is kept outside the report. The act referred to by the first term involves creating false controversy, so that any real controversy dies a lonely, unloved death. The false controversy can then languish in the adulation of the masses of folks who resist any kind of education or expansion of their limited little minds.

At Kaplan University, 'Guerilla Registration' Leaves Students Deep In Debt

You should learn to read the comment, or to keep your mouth shut when you have no idea what you are talking about.

The MCAT is a standardized test for pre-med students. The test scores are required for admission into medical school. "go to a university" doesn't enter into it. And since when do community colleges offer MD degrees?

House Republicans Block Child Marriage Prevention Act

My friend Funk Sands has posted a message at least twice comparing the bills that the Republicans have blocked vs. the ones they have passed. It was deleted TWICE.

Will the MOODerators please take their medication so we can go back to posting factual arguments?
